David Earll is a Music Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he teaches applied lessons on Tuba, Euphonium, and Trombone.  In addition to his work as a Low Brass Professor, David also teaches courses in Music Appreciation, Low Brass Methods, MIDI/Recording Technology, Chamber Music, and directs the UW-Platteville Low Brass Ensemble.  Before moving to Platteville, he taught at Mesa Community College as an Adjunct Professor of Tuba/Euphonium and worked as the Tuba/Euphonium Graduate Teaching Assistant at Arizona State University.  David currently performs with Ensemble Nouveau (a group composed of several other UW-P faculty) and has formerly performed with the Tempe Symphonic Winds, the University of South Dakota Faculty Brass Quintet, Salt River Brass Band, the Ocotillo Brass Quintet, and the Boston-based Nautilus Brass Quintet.  In addition to his work as a teacher and performer, David is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Tuba Performance at Arizona State University under the tutelage of Dr. Deanna Swoboda.  David completed his Master’s Degree in Tuba Performance at Arizona State University, where he served as a Teaching Assistant for Professor Sam Pilafian.  He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance at the University of South Dakota. David has served as a guest artist, performer, clinician, and lecturer at many events in both the United States and abroad, including: The 2013 International Brass Clinic at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, The University of the Cumberlands Low Brass Days (2011), UC Tuba Day (2010), The International Tuba/Euphonium Conference (2012,2010), IDEAfest (2009), and Tubonium6 (2009).  He will also be performing a solo tuba recital tour of The Netherlands and Germany featuring works by Arizona composers with the support of the 2013 Northern Trust/Piper Enrichment Award during the 2013-14 academic year.
