The essence of Diasphere is the opposition of two musical ideas: slow, polyphonic chorale-like sections, and fast, fiery allegro sections. The juxtaposition of ideas facilitates both the powerful intensity and sonorous beauty that only a trombone quartet can deliver. The title, Diasphere, is meant to evoke this contrast. The piece is a musical conversation between the four players, demanding from each great stamina, technical facility, range, and lyricism.
Solo parts included: Trombone 1, 2, 3, Bass Trombone
